Adventures in Social Networking: Part 2
The blog is built and I’m posting regularly. The more often I post, the more ideas about posts come to mind. I added three posts about the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council panel discussion this week on incorporating social media into your business strategy. And learned a lot in the process of writing–great reminder of what was said. I’m using my direct mail copywriting techniques in putting subheads into long text. Also a major point of good web usability practice. I’m being more relaxed about writing for good SEO, and will focus more on that in the future.
My first tweet
Today I sent out my first tweet in Twitter, announcing that I’d posted the panel discussion report in my blog, and also put in on my Facebook wall. At the moment I only know that my husband saw my tweet–fun to hear.
Adding the blog to Feedburner
I registered the blog with Feedburner. The truth is that I’m not quite sure yet why that’s important, so I’ll find out more and post what I learn. I also added an application in Linked In for my blog, as well as for blogs that my contacts write.
Tweaking the appearance of the blog
I continue to fiddle with settings for the blog, and added more line spacing to the text, made the text column narrower to leave more white space next to the columns on the right, and changed the font to a serif for better legibility.
